Sporting Success in 2016-2017

We have competed in so many sporting competitions this Summer term. Well done to all of the children who showed determination and resilience when representing our school. We have done so well and managed to enter in to so many finals!

Here are a list of competitions we took part in:
Tri- golf – 1st in the Fylde. We then went through to the Lancashire School Games Finals. We came a very commendable 5th place (180 school teams entered in total from Lancashire).
Tennis- 1st in our heat and 2nd in the Fylde Finals.
Cricket- 3rd place in Lytham & St Annes.
Swimming- 4th in Lytham & St Annes
Rounders- 4th in Lytham & St Annes

We even came 3rd in the Lytham Cluster of Schools Athletics.

Well done Hall Park – keep fit and active and keep enjoying ┬ásport.

Keep Active at Hall Park Each and Every Day!

We continue to work hard to keep our children fit and active. At lunchtimes we now have a designated member of our welfare team, Mr Wilson, who leads active team games for our key stage 1 children, ably supported by our Year 5 playground PALS. This has been very well received and both Mr Wilson and the PALS always have a keen group enthusiastically taking part.

We have also reviewed key stage 2 lunchtimes as we work closely with Mr Milligan and his team who come every day to lead lunchtime sport as part of playground provision. Some children have asked for sporting opportunities other than football and so we have put together a taster of activities including athletics, multi skills, hand ball and dodge ball, changing the sport each week. We still love football, of course, and children can choose to play football at playtimes. After this half term we will seek the children’s views to see which sports they enjoyed the most and would like to try more often. It is working well and so far participation is up, with even more children choosing to spend their lunchtimes with the coaches. The children have also been so supportive in recognising that not every-one enjoys football every lunchtime and sometimes it is valuable to try new things and discover that you might just have other sporting talents.

We are also very excited that Mr Milligan will be bringing an additional coach twice a week to lead street dance/zumba on the playground at lunchtimes.
